Piano duo Alberti - D’Errico

Alfonso Alberti and Anna D’Errico share commitment to the music of our time and to exploring innovative forms of interpretation of old works, in context with contemporary performance.

They first crossed paths in 2014, and they soon discovered an intense and powerful artistic partnership.

Their projects are characterized by a synthesis between solo and duo performance: they take up the challenge of embracing both roles onstage, their duo work is nurtured by their exploration of the solo repertoire and vice-versa. Performance by heart is also an important feature of their duo work, enabling pursuit of in-depth knowledge of the score and greater freedom of live interpretation.

Besides embracing the great repertoire for 2 pianos from the 19th and 20th century, they are currently developing projects devoted to living composers including Salvatore Sciarrino, Alessandro Solbiati, Michele Dall’Ongaro, Hugues Dufourt, Georges Aperghis, Giacomo Manzoni.

They count appearances in venues such as the Cappella Paolina in Palazzo del Quirinale Rome, BiennaleMusica Venice, the LAC in Lugano.

Their first CD, for the label Stradivarius, is dedicated to major works of the historical avant-garde repertoire for two pianos, including the Three pieces by György Ligeti together with other rarely performed works.
